Consider the age of your kids, the backdrops to match the outfits and the general vibe of the shoot.
Please note that we can cover one main location per hour. Meaning that during that hour, we’ll walk in a few spots around that one location to get variety in terms of framing, poses and vibe.
These are a few of our favorite iconic Paris spots to have a family photo session:
Iconic views of the Eiffel Tower, stairs, terrace, gardens for the kids to run around, there are nearby cafes for a break and do an outfit change.
The courtyards of the museum are ideal for elegant family photos. You’ll be surrounded by the finest French architecture. A lot of open space for the kids to play.
Tuileries Gardens and Luxembourg Gardens are the most iconic Parisian parks and we love these locations for nature, flowers, fountains, carousels and ice cream stands. During the summer there is a fair in the Tuileries.
If you think of a typical Parisian neighborhood, with cobblestone streets, cute Parisian cafés, then this is that spot. Lots of different scenes to keep children entertained, cafés etc to change outfits. Go there early in the day!
Warning! Please be extra careful when taking photos on bridges and crowded places,
such as the Alexander 3 bridge or the Bir Hakeim bridge for small kids.
There are plenty of cars passing by and it can be dangerous.
An assistant (add-on to the photo package) can help with your belongings and keeping the kids entertained while mom and dad pose for a romantic picture.

When planning what you’ll wear for your Paris family photo session, try to coordinate loosely as a family.
Make sure patterns and colours don’t clash too much, and avoid bright neons on top as they can reflect onto your skin.
Additionally, try to match the levels of formality. For example, if mom and dad are wearing a suit and dress, don’t put the kids in jeans.
Wear something YOU feel good in, and it will show in the pictures!

It’s best to avoid bringing lots of stuff to your Paris photo session, however there are definitely some essentials we’d recommend bringing. Try to stick to one bag or small suitcase if possible as it makes transportation much easier!
Comfortable footwear – mainly for anyone in heels. Walking between locations is much more comfortable if you have some flat shoes to slip on!
Outfit change if necessary – if your shoot covers more than one location, you have the option of changing outfits in between. If the weather forecast isn’t great, bring an extra warm layer for the kids.
Something to entertain the children, for example while mom and dad take some couple shots.
Snacks and water – keeps the little ones happy and means you don’t have to stop in the middle of the shoot.
Tissues/wipes – kids are unpredictable! We can always retouch the photos but it’s easier to clean them up as we go along.

There are a few steps to hire a Paris family photographer.
First, select an artist that you like and would love to take your family photos in Paris.
Then, decide on the length of your photo shoot. Keep in mind, we typically cover one main location in one hour.
Finally, decide on the date, early during your trip and a starting time (the earlier the better).
We strongly recommend to hire an associate who can spend time with your kids and can help keeping your belongings safe.
You will be prompted then to sign the photography contract (that ensures that we show up on the day of the shoot) and pay for a retainer.
This guarantees that we don’t book any other client for the same starting time and date with the same photographer, as your reservation.
